About the Conference

Communicate. Collaborate. Celebrate.

The Midwifery and Birth Conference is a grassroots organisation that aims to bring midwifery and birth education to all. The Conference was established in 2013 by a diverse group of women with a shared vision of uniting everyone involved with childbirth in order to address the many challenges we face as Midwives, Mothers and Birth Workers. Our aim is to provide a platform for knowledge to be shared and celebrated, and we work very hard to keep the costs of the conference as low as possible. We have chosen the theme Human Rights in Childbirth, to tie into South African Human Rights day on the 21st March. Once again the conference will bring together a diverse group of speakers; doctors, midwives, doulas and parents who will all give their input on a variety of subjects related directly and indirectly to the issue of human rights in childbirth. This year we see the conference opening up to an international audience and speakers.
